May 14th - the evening of the open house is coming up quickly! I'm really looking forward to it and hope to see some familiar faces and meet some new people too.
Thought we'd better let folks know that there there is some major road construction happening right near our locaction:

ROAD CLOSURES: The Lake Otis and Tudor intersection will be CLOSED from 8:00pm Friday, May 14 until 6:00am Monday, May 17. Please follow construction signs for DETOUR routes.
Welcome to Alaska in the summer, right? Road constuction everyhwere. Don't let it stop you though ~ c'mon over!
This was my friend Meg's idea, with which I excitedly & nervously went along! :) The nervous part comes from my art being "center stage". It'd be easier if it was a group show maybe, but this time around it's just me. ♥
Meg read a story (I think it was in the NY times?) about the trend of doing art openings in-home rather than in a gallery. It seems like a nice way for guests to visualize how the art will look in their own home if they can see it in this type of setting. Meg and her husband Zach have graciously opened their entire house and given up all their wall space for the event. She also has an idea for a whole Etsy shop tie-in too, so I've got my shop back online.
Since school is just moments away from being finished for the year, I have time to turn my thoughts back to artsy/craftsy pursuits. This open house seemed like the perfect start to a busy, creative summer.
